My Story

The Journey Behind the Teaching

From the Laboratory to the Classroom

Hi, I'm John Ramon Onayemi. My teaching journey began before I formally studied Geophysics. Early laboratory experience gave me a practical appreciation of how scientific concepts move beyond textbooks and into real-world application.

Working as a laboratory assistant in a Cambridge-licensed school exposed me to A-Level learning, examination materials, and the practical side of preparing students for science examinations. I was involved in setting up laboratory sessions, preparing reagents and organising materials used for Physics, Biology and other practical work. This experience gave me an early understanding of how students encounter scientific concepts, how practical examinations are approached, and how careful preparation supports effective learning.

7+ Year of Experience

I later studied Geophysics at the University of Lagos, completing both my BSc and MSc. During my undergraduate years, I also represented my department in academic competitions in the United States. These experiences strengthened my analytical thinking, problem-solving ability and appreciation for learning beyond the classroom.

Over time, these experiences became part of the foundation for my approach to tutoring. Today, I provide personalised one-to-one academic support in Mathematics and Science, helping students understand difficult concepts, prepare for examinations and develop the confidence to approach problems independently.
